Chinese Medicine

Chinese medicine offers a holistic perspective that integrates the physical and emotional layers of well-being, treating the body and mind as interconnected, mutually supportive systems - which enables us to address a wide range of responses to stress and trauma.

While Chinese medicine is renowned for its effectiveness in treating muscle pain, injuries, and skeletal issues, it also plays a significant role in soothing the emotional impacts that trauma leaves behind. Research shows that Chinese medicine can help calm anxiety, tension, restlessness, and irritability.

As an ancient practice, Chinese medicine focuses on natural, traditional techniques to maintain and enhance health. It is based on the theory of the body’s energy system, known as the meridians, through which vital energy flows, nourishing the body and influencing overall well-being.

When there's an imbalance or dysfunction in one of the meridians, discomfort or illness may arise. In Chinese medicine, anxiety and depression are seen as disruptions in this energy system. To restore balance, therapies such as acupuncture, herbal remedies, and massage techniques (Shiatsu/Tuina) are used. Treatments combine acupuncture and therapeutic touch to release blocked energy or enhance the energy flow through specific points along the meridians. The essence of Chinese medicine lies in the balance of spirit, body, and mind, promoting true, holistic health and wellness.

Naturopathy

Naturopathy, or natural medicine, is a holistic approach based on the understanding that the human body has its own inherent healing abilities. When imbalances arise, they can be addressed through a variety of natural remedies such as herbal medicine, personalized nutrition, reflexology, Bach flower remedies, and lifestyle adjustments that promote well-being.

These tools have been scientifically proven to effectively treat a wide range of health issues and enhance overall physical and mental wellness.

The primary goal of naturopathic treatment is to strengthen both the body and mind, addressing every layer of a person’s well-being. Naturopathy is beneficial for a variety of health concerns including chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, inflammation, and various illnesses. It also supports those dealing with depression and anxiety-related symptoms.

This practice reconnects individuals to a lifestyle that resonates with them—whether through mindful cooking, meaningful work, or intentional living. Everyone’s journey is unique, and naturopathy helps each person discover what works best for them.

By creating a routine tailored to individual needs, naturopathy offers valuable support for survivors of trauma in rebuilding a new, healthy rhythm to life.

Water Therapy

There are a range of water-based therapies, including Watsu, Jahara, Hydrotherapy, WT, and more - each blending gentle, soothing movement with the therapeutic power of water. The treatments take place in a heated pool at a comfortable 33-34°C, allowing the body to relax and unwind fully.

During the session, you float effortlessly on the water’s surface while your therapist gently moves, stretches, and applies pressure to your body. This helps release tension from both body and mind in a peaceful, supportive environment.

Water therapy can assist in reducing pain, easing emotional stress, improving mobility and flexibility, enhancing overall well-being, and restoring inner resilience. The calming interaction with water and gentle movements help integrate traumatic experiences, reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, and foster a deep sense of peace and balance.
